Well, I Tried

Here is my first attempt at giving Zoe Nubian Knots -

They looked pretty darned cute last night, but when she woke up this morning it was more like Nubian mohawk. Crazy! I haven't quite figured out how to fasten those little knots yet, but I'm learning.

Also, have you ever tried making a straight part on a head that doesn't sit still for more than three seconds???

  2. Very cute. (Both Zoe and the knots!) How do you get them to stay in place?

  3. Linda,
That's exactly what I'm trying to figure out :)

They stay fine for a while (until she slept on them) just because of the texture of her hair, but they become unwound after awhile. I think I need to put a little rubber band at the base of the knot to hold it in place.

Curly hair is amazing at what you can do to it! Way more fun than my boring straight hair that only goes flat no matter what I do to it!

  4. Barb, My girls sleep with do rags on their hair at night to keep their braids nice longer and keep the fuzz off maybe it would keep the knots together.

  5. Tina,
Good idea. I need to go pick up a couple co rags. Whenever I hear that word I think of DJ. Do you remember DJ? He's the first person I heard that term from :) Brings back lots of college memories...

  6. I was TOTALY thinking of DJ when I wrote my do rag comment! I do remember him. When Mike Krogfoss (sp) started a backward slide into trouble it was very very hard for me ( brought up a ton of childhood memories with my dad, ect) and DJ was a good help. Yes,those college days. Sometimes I remember the nice things other times I grimis and are glad they are the past.
