Things I Learned Today

You really should try to learn something new every day or so I've heard. Well today, I learned two new things. I'll share them with you so that you, too, can be enlightened on these subjects.

1) Soy sauce does not need to be refrigerated. Who knew? Maybe you all knew that, but it has been on my refrigerator door all my life - until today that is! Once I found out that it was unnecessarily taking up valuable door space, out it went! While I was removing the soy sauce from the refrigerator I learned...

2)Worcestershire sauce has anchovies in it! What???? I LOVE Worcestershire sauce. It's right up there with onions and garlic. I hate anchovies. How am I going to come to grips with this? Oh, and Worcestershire sauce doesn't have to be refrigerated either!

  1. I never knew that Worcestshire sauce had anchovies. But then, I love anchovies so that is not a problem. You probably keep these in the refrigerator because you learned it from me and where I learned it who knows. I am going to start checking more things to see if refrigeration is needed. Love, Mom

  2. The two bottles in my fridge will be happy to know they don't have to be cold anymore.

And I am constantly teased by my family for adding W. sauce to whatever I make. In my opinion, you can't really go wrong adding w. sauce. Well, unless you are baking that is.

  3. Well, now that we've all been educated on the proper storage of Worcestershire sauce, could someone please tell me how to pronounce that word! I can't get it out no matter how hard I try. I've had people correct me and I just can't seem to make the sounds they are making!

  4. Speaking of hard words to say, I came across a tough one when reading aloud to my kids. Ironically, it was "effortlessly"!
