Aidan has been lamenting lately that there are no boys his age in our neighborhood. He really wanted a friend to play with that we didn't have to drive to their house. After listening to him lament this for several weeks, I suggested that we pray that God would bring him a friend. About two weeks ago, we prayed for God to do that. After we prayed, Aidan said, "I don't think it's going to happen." I assured him that there were quite a few houses for sale in the neighborhood and God could have a friend move into one of those.
Lo and behold, about four days ago Aidan comes running up to me and says, "God answered our prayer!"
It seems that just last week a family moved into the house at the end of our block and they have an eight year old boy! Aidan was beside himself with excitement. The icing on the cake for Aidan was that this new boy's name is Cade. That doesn't mean much to most of you, but Cade was the name Aidan's birthmom gave him when he was born :) More icing on the cake is that Cade has a 13 year old brother and a ten year old sister. We have since met this new family and their children and they are just wonderful kids!
So there you have it. God answers prayer.
"Now to Him who is able to do exceeding abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen." Ephesians 3:20,21
