I just finished a book that Evan told me I must read. Having completed it, I must agree, it was a good read. So, if you are looking for an interesting fictional read this summer, may I recommend to you The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss?
The only downside to the book is that it's the first book of a trilogy, and the third book has yet to be published. So, I'm moving on to the second book, but then I will have to wait for an unknown amount of time to get the end of the story.

What about for a 13 year old?
ReplyDeleteHmmm, Jen, that's a good question. There is a small amount of swearing...maybe five words. There is a little why I would term "sexual tension" between the main character (a boy of about 17) and the girl that he loves, but nothing too serious - just some of his feelings towards girls. We did let Molly read it and she loved it.
ReplyDeleteHelpful. Dietrich recently watched The Bourne Series with us. It opened up the whole CIA spy thing for him. He found out they were books first and was interested until reading a bit about the books and the sexual situations. He's decided not to read them for now.
