The first photo seems like the old photographs where people had to be still for a long time and never smiled. So, I'm guessing late 1800s, turn of the century? The second photo seems like they are observing the first flight?
Looks like science to me. Almost like that brother/sister team that discovered Uranus.
Jen, good guess. Yes, that are rather sober-faced because of the time period, but you'll need to go further back in history...Oh, and by the way, the subject is NOT history (well it is, but it isn't). Now have I got you curious??
