So last night was a busy night, first Chris gave the girls dance lessons
And then I provided French horn lessons to my little ones (hey, it's never too early to work on embouchure).

ReplyDeleteSo that's how you spell embouchure. Mr. Gronseth, my band instructor, used to always tap on his music stand with his baton and say, "Watch your embouchure," and I had no idea what he was talking about. I think he was addressing the horns, not the flutes. But, who knows, I never watched my embouchure. As he tapped, bits of his plastic baton would break off and fly in the general direction of the flutes.

ReplyDeleteThat's funny, Linda! I think embouchure might apply to any woodwind or brass instrument. I'm not sure though. As for the spelling, the internet is great. I hadn't the foggiest idea how to spell it,but I managed to find it in Wikipedia.
ReplyDeleteGotta love Wikipedia - although I have a very funny story about Chris entering his own name as an important person born on Dec. 15. It stayed out there for at least a few hours - very funny!
