Spring sports are in full swing around here! Molly is doing soccer with our community program and Marcus is doing t-ball through the YMCA. This is all on top of swim lessons for the younger five, flute lessons, piano lessons, drum lessons, bagpipe lessons and then just regular plain old lessons.
When my first five were young we really limited what they were involved in to preserve family time and sanity, but now that everyone is older we have allowed more extra-curricular activities. It hasn't been something we've entered into lightly though. With eight kids it would be really easy to get TOO busy and the family unit would suffer. While trying to maintain consistent family time, we have seen the benefits of allowing the kids to participate in activities that they enjoy and that challenge them. So, this means that during different seasons of the year life gets a little chaotic. This happens to be one of those seasons :-) This will all go on until late June and then we have a reprieve until football season starts in August.
