No, really, he is not as smart as he sounds because each and every time he goes into the trap we set out and ends up back in his cage.

Houdini Hamster
It is official. I am changing the name of our hamster, Blackberry, to Houdini. That little rodent escaped from his LOCKED cage last night! When he figured out how to open one of the doors to his cage I thought, "That's a pretty smart hamster," and proceeded to safety pin the door shut. Not too terribly long after that, he learned how to open a different door to his cage and I thought, "That's a pretty sneaky hamster," and we safety pinned that door shut too. Well, now he has figured out that he can squeeze through the small opening left by the safety pin and I'm thinking, this hamster should be in the Guinness Book of World Records or something. Actually, I think he and the rabbit are in cahoots and she came in and set him free.
