Botany?

I have such brilliant blog readers, I thought I would let you guess what these pictures have to do with studying botany. Come on, folks, put your thinking caps on...

I LOVE homeschool!

Oh, and don't you LOVE that all the kids are smiling! **REALITY CHECK***Only I know the truth that one of those kids was only smiling for the picture and really did NOT enjoy our little science project.

  1. Since in every picture the students were surrounded by shoes, I think you might be checking for plant residue stuck to the bottom of their shoes. Mom

  3. None of my children were smiling during that experiment! But, in review they remembered what we were doing it for! :)

  4. Well, I guess that's the important part - remembering that is, having fun is REALLY secondary :-)

I forgot you were doing the same science, thanks for not giving away the answer!

  5. I will guess that the way they are positioned they each represent a part of the flower. But that is just a guess. It does look like a fun way to learn though.

  6. Emily is the roots, Aidan is the stem, Nina is the leaf and Molly is the head of the flower. I know they are leaving the proper names, but I can't remember.

  7. ooh ooh ooh! I know the answer to this one (we must have done the same curriculum...we really enjoyed that, especially making the light hut) So I won't give it away either! I was able to buy all kinds of blooming plants for my house -- especially primroses in Jan and when they quit blooming, I'd put them in the light hut til they rebloomed! Kalanchoes too. We did all our seeds for the garden in the spring. They'd come up in 2-3 days. Have fun!!

  9. Aimee.
There are NO silly guesses! At least you didn't infer that I have mold or fungus in my foyer or shoes....tee hee

  10. Ok, my guess is Aiden...... (not 'really' smiling.....)

  11. Sorry, Jean, it wasn't Aidan. You're right though that is a fake smile on his face, but only because that's how he smiles in pictures. He can be as happy as a clam and then you pull out the camera and he gets this goofy smile on his face.

I think it's a boy thing! We have pictures of my brother about that age with the goofiest smiles ever.
