Yes, that is a pile of millipedes. This is what greats us when we open our front door this time of year. Piles of hundreds of millipede. It's like a millipede convention on our sidewalk. This picture is of a small pile. Some mornings the pile is two or three times that size. How gross is that?? I don't know why they've chosen our sidewalk for their annual convention site, but they have. The dead carcasses laying around the convention sight are the remains of previous convention attenders after Aidan got ahold of them. I can't fault him too much for squashing the critters (although it leaves a nasty mess). We really need a good frost around here to get rid of these lovely visitors.

Another hot day and the kids with their magnifying glasses would do the trick as well.
